It's probably the same Thomas the Tank Engine fic you've read. Thomas gets it on with a lady engine and it's all very carefully thought out. Maintenance platforms are involved.

I just realized that most of the Transformers porn is completrly impossible, but that is actually sci fi to start with.

That is exactly the fic I thought of! I remember it being all technical I could hear the levers and shifting of vague mechanical gear sounds.

I wonder if spark sex counts as normal in TF porn? Robots getting off on magnetic fields or whatever makes sense, whereas I find that sticky is where it veers between humanized and weird (mostly when it involves eggs).

Spark sex usually is considered normal in TF sex, though usually a more serious type of sex than sticky or plug-and-play, usually because spark-sex tends to have soul-bonding (spark-bonding!) possibilities involved as well.

(I spent three years in the TF fandom between the first and third Bay movies. I read a lot of fic.)

Yeah, plus it usually gets emotionally intense. I've only just started looking at the fandom and franchise after watching the Prime cartoon, and it's great for me that it basically has every kink and theme, often at the same time. Don't know if I'll make it through the movies though.
