You should definitely watch them! I totally agree with others that a lot of why I love Capaldi's Doctor so much is because there are quite a few aspects that remind me of Seven. He's kind of playfully goofy at times, but there is something so mysterious and alien and dark lurking below the surface.

And, Ace is so very kick-ass. Honestly, some of 7's episodes are cheesy as fuck (the first three with Mel as his companion can be tough to get through) but there are some ridiculously awesome episodes in there as well.

I can't say for sure you'll end up shipping it, but I'd definitely be curious to know how you felt after getting to 'Curse of Fenric' - because that's the episode that really cemented it for me.

Anyway - I will ALWAYS recommend watching 7th Doctor episodes... :D
