I think it literally is.

I'd say retail. Which I think is odd. While it wasn't the best job I ever had, it was far, far from the worst.

in france, it's civil servants. there's too many of them, you can't fire them, and all they do is play spider solitaire and complain about how busy they are.

That is very accurate as regards the Internet in the US (or at least the Internety, liberal-ish parts) but not very accurate at all as regards the US

Hated by people who do it (i.e. most undesirable job)? Or hated by others (i.e. this career makes you an undesirable person)?

If the former...honestly probably anything that doesn't pay the bills well, esp. if you have to deal with assholes on a daily basis. If the latter...lawyers, politicians, and telemarketers all come to mind. And insurance agents. And CEOs of asshole companies like cable giants, oil giants, etc...

What happened in gym class?

Most hated career to have is definitely fast food/retail, but most hated career to encounter is probably the cops. Which I don't entirely agree with, but I get where people are coming from on that one.

IRS. Hatred of the tax man seems ancient and robust.

What I'm doing right now. It's work in order to be able to pay bills and have some damn good benefits, but I fucking HATE how physically demanding it is and how tired I am afterwards and how I can't do anything with my friends during the nights anymore. BC
