Gotta shout out to Get Backers, Ace Attorney, and Tiger & Bunny. I think it's because the canon is such a mix of "ohhhhh dramatic srs bsns" and "lolwtfever, crack time!" in all of them that the only people who really get into the fandoms and stay involved in the fandoms longterm are the type who don't take themselves or their fandoms particularly seriously anyway, and are unlikely to be offended no matter how different other people's approaches and opinions are.

I mean, Ace Attorney as an example. It's hard to have an angry opinionated debate about a series where a lawyer cross-examines a parrot.

Where do you fandom for Get Backers? I'd be down with dipping my toes in.

Er, these days, mostly in person at conventions, or organizing gatherings on Facebook before conventions. I've been part of a couple different cosplay groups in the last couple years, basically because I met other cosplayers at cons, and we got to talking, and discovered we all loved GB, "so hey, let's put a group together!" But back in the days of LJ and IRC channels, it was the same way it is with these cosplayers now - almost entirely drama-free, unpretentious, and full of lulz.
