I loved both movies equally for different reasons. And I'll never understand the hate Cap 1 gets around here.

OP

I love Cap 1 (don't get me wrong), I just think that Cap 2 is BETTER. Except for the hair. The WWII style just really, really worked for me. It made Steve look classic and put together whereas I think his modern hairstyle (though logical from the character's perspective of adapting to the modern world, as other have mentioned) veers too close to frat-boy territory sometimes.

The complaint is petty, but it nags at the back of my mind when I watch The Winter Soldier.

I liked Cap 1, mainly because I love everything to do with Steve and I love skinny!Steve, but I will forever be bitter about the movie it could have been if it had 100% less boring Red Skull exposition and 100% more Howling Commandos.

I would not mind a Howling Commandos movie myself. I just liked it because it was in its own weird way sort of a Wolfenstein movie.

I liked Red Skull (Hugo Weaving ftw -- he was deliciously fun, IMO) but I agree that the Howling Commandos were really glossed over. That…montage…was just an amazing disappointment.

I enjoyed Red Skull a lot but I agree, we really could have done with more Howling Commando's and HC shenanigans in general(and personally I feel it would have helped give the whole time-skip for Steve greater impact, like yes this dude lost everyone he cared about, not just some guys who were there for a 30 second montage).

Cap 1 was my favorite of all the MCU movies until Cap 2 edged it out. Cap 1 is fantastic.
