(Anonymous) 2014-10-13 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)Preserving fun times in small fandom circles has to take precedence, although it can be alienating when I feel unable to speak my mind, even about trivial things.
It feels lonely, to be honest, to have to play polite all the time, even though I know it's for the best long term.
Not to mention that its impossible to know what others will take offence at anyway. It can all feel a little sad and pointless.
For example, currently I hate the juggernaut fave epic fic in my small fandom. I wish I didn't. I want to like it and join in. But I don't even dare mention how I feel about this fic online in case bad feelings are caused.
