You could only check out ten books in a whole week?! Damn, that's rough. At mine they let you take out ten at a time, regardless of whether it was the same week. I remember being SO HAPPY when I could finally get an "adult" card and check out as many books as I wanted. Until then, my parents would have to check out some of my books for me.

well technically I guess it was 10 at a time, but we were pretty far away from the library so my parents would take us there once a week.

Fortunately, my parents are big readers too so there were usually backup books in the house when the library books ran out! I had a stable of annual books that I could reread once or twice a year, lol
