35. Wait, so just because someone takes their writing seriously, because they have, oh, I dunno, ambition, you look down on them? I mean, I'm all for casual fanfiction writing, but...

Just because it's a hobby for you doesn't mean you can look down on other people for being serious about it.

(That might not have not been your intent, but that statement just struck me as ridiculously arrogant)

36. ... it scares me a little that I understand that sentiment (not for the Heroes fandom, but just in general).

41. Not at all. I love writing my characters doing normal things, especially when they're in a very action/drama oriented series.

35. funnily enough, I empathize with the secret maker because I'm sure they have been looked down upon by fans who take their writing so seriously that they ridicule and demean those who aren't looking to be professional writers as being less worthy of writing fanfiction and participating in fandoms.

I've never encountered any such fans. Yes, I'm sure there are the people at pottersues and deleterius who can be unpleasant, but striving for improvement does not necessitate being unpleasant to other people. For those you have had the misfortune to come across, the fault lies in their general conduct, not in their ambition - god forbid that they should take the quality of their writing seriously!
