Hmm, it's funny the difference perspective makes, because with my neighbors who have a large age gap (maybe 15-20 years, I'm not sure), the younger one is calling the shots and the older one is always having to fall in line (and I think they're pretty much doomed, but that's the long version of the story).

I'd just avoiding painting all age-gap relationship dynamics with the same brush. I personally know some that work very well. Like everything else, it really depends on the people involved.
