28. Well, y'know, I have ZERO respect for longfic writers. If you can't move people with something concise and short, rather than clobbering your readers over the head with excessive verbiage, you might as well go shoot yourself.

My, it seems that both you and the OP are making very broad generalizations.
There's such a thing as both good drabbles and bad drabbles, as well as longfic.
Length, in the overall gist of it, doesn't have to account for that. It's the writing itself that does.

... I was being sarcastic? ^^ I write both longer fic and drabbles, myself, and I think neither is 'better' than the other. Each form has its own challenges and advantages.

Aha, it's okay XD;; I would've added a "/sarcasm" tag, but I wrote up the comment in a bit of a rush.

But yeah, in seriousness, I don't think that something being short precludes it being a good fic; I've read some pretty mediocre epic-length stories, and then I've read 200-word drabbles that took my breath away. Length has little to do with quality or depth or meaning, I think, because a 100-word drabble that makes me laugh uproariously, or knifes me in the heart, is definitely better in my estimation than a 20,000 word fic that leaves me scrolling over large portions in the hope of getting to the end. Or which I give up on because it's so mediocre/bad, either-or.
