37. Everyone's leaving? o.O There hasn't been many drops this month? Like lots of hiatus/semi hiatus due to the holidays (including mine).

Wow, it's like a Poly secret every three days or so.

The current character count is 604, and I know that not everyone has their character info submitted. That's up from when I started the spreadsheet a week ago.

*shrug* It's all perception, I guess.

That's what I thought and I'm not even pay attention to the character rooster. It's probably because of the hiatused!people or less active which is expected in this season? :/

Well, I think secrets take at least a week to post, and I can't say I'm too up on how many people were dropping before I took on modding, but I think it's largely perception. It may also be drops within crews/groups of friends. It's always hard when the people you play with are leaving, even if the game as a whole remains as viable as ever.

(I put something like this in a response to the first comment on this thread, but I'll put it here too...)

When I made that secret, it seemed like a lot of long-time players were leaving, and not just going on hiatus or dropping a character or two, but just up and leaving. I also heard vague rumors of other people leaving (turned out not to be true). It just made me sad and a bit worried that all the people I liked to play with, the people I'd met when I first joined, were going to leave, and there'd be sort of a cascade effect and the game would collapse.

Ridiculous, I know, and that's why I made it a secret.

Actually, I made that secret the morning of the F!S Poly wank--yes, that wank. So, yes, it took a little while to be posted.

When I made it, it seemed like a large number of older, established players were dropping the game entirely, almost out of nowhere. I can't think of names, but it seemed like the game was just hemorrhaging players, and I was hearing rumors of other players thinking of leaving. I started thinking that if all the players I liked to play with left, or if the game started to collapse, I'd leave too, no matter how hard that would be. I didn't feel like I could really admit to feeling like I'd have to drop, nor how much the drop notices affected me, without people telling me to get a clue, so I made a secret about it.

There have been a lot of Poly secrets lately. I hope mine can be seen as more of a happy one than the others. And less wank-causing.

Aah. Makes sense. But almost no one dropped out the game lately (and one case I know is for complete different reasons). ♥

Don't worry about the rumors and such. Happened a lot through poly history (once I was willing to leave, but everything settled in) and the game endured.

It was a happy secret. Just don't be so worried.

Some people have been there longer and it's just their time to go. As far as I can see things are going a-okay otherwise. Friends I know have left but there are still other people to get to know.

I'm not leaving. I hope you won't either.
