You're more likely to get struck by lightning than the admin of an obscure Dreamwidth community is to get doxed.
And anyway if Case's account were compromised it wouldn't really matter if IP logging was off, this mystery hacker (who could be doing more productive things like hacking, I dunno, Bank of America or Kotaku or whatever it is hackers go after these days) could just turn it back on and then where would you be?
Besides, say they get your IP. What the fuck they gonna do with it? Find your address or hack your computer? Most IPs you can see on the internet (like if you check your computer's IP via a website) don't even point to the computer's actual location. Almost every site that does geolocation thinks I live in West Chester.
Either get a VPN or a proxy or maybe stop being so goddamn paranoid. Unless your entire internet life is getting on to Dreamwidth for a couple hours, you reveal aspects of your identity on a daily basis without even thinking about it. If you're that worried about identity theft, cut up your credit cards, throw out your phone, disconnect your internet, and board up your windows and never leave the house. And maybe wear a mask so nobody sees your face.
