(Anonymous) 2014-10-28 09:39 am (UTC)(link)I don't really get what you're trying to say. It's where I encountered this attitude.
Homestuck is still heavily male and canonly het orientated, even with more female characters than usual. There is a reason why out of the main kids, the female friendship Rosejade had 5 pesterlogs aaaaall the way back.
Sure, Hussie improved a bit with MeenahAranea and JaneRoxy, but for shipping what's already /there/, you still have less.

Homestuck is a bad choice for someone to pick to crow about shipping femslash and saying it's the Best Fandom for Only Femslash because of how big and varied the cast is. If anything it's the best fandom for shipping an even mix of everything. I wasn't disagreeing with you, I was laughing at the people who are being silly about it in fandom.
I don't know that I agree with you than HS is male-oriented, actually. Rose/Kanaya, Jane/Roxy, Roxy/Calliope, Terezi/Vriska, those are just a few examples of relationships between two women (whether just platonic, or moreso, or even antagonistic) that are interesting and well-developed. Fandom shits itself over dudes and especially slash subtext, so I'd be willing to bet those interactions aren't talked about as much as, say, John/Karkat or John/Dave interactions, but I think they are there and pretty balanced with m/m interactions. Also, there's a ton of M/F interaction. Really, I think it's all there (and it's one of the reasons I enjoy Homestuck so much).
