Did I write this in my sleep?

I've actually had a theory about this for a very long time.
I didn't watch the show from the beginning, but after a while I thought "Daryll's never explicitly been seen attracted to a woman. Why don't they just make him gay? (or bi) There's nothing on the show to contradict it."

I don't ship him with any of the other guys on the show (I kind of ship him with Michonne and I'd be totally cool with Daryll/Carol happening in canon. I just REALLY hope Beth/Darryl doesn't happen)

But it'd be great to show a beloved character as not defined by his sexuality (but they should actually show him actually being with a man at some point, no erasure type bullshit)

The only problem I could see with this is that it would cause SO MUCH POLARIZATION in the fandom. A good portion of the fandom would be totally cool with it, but I wouldn't doubt it if a lot of the more conservative viewers stop (or at least threaten to stop) watching the show because of it.

I'd still watch the show if he turns out to be portrayed as exclusively straight, but it'd be great to have some more LGBT representation on such a popular show.
