I personally dug Miracle's Mask and it's my favorite Layton game behind Unwound Future (which has the saddest damn ending ever and I love it to pieces.)

I think Randall had enough of a justification to act the way he did and a lot of manipulation from Descole that caused a severe amount of misunderstanding and resentment for him. Henry forgiving him just like that might have been an easy solution in the end, but that's kind of the point; that long lasting friendship and loyalty due to acts of kindness in the past will go a long way.

Yeah, if you think about it, Henry's plans to help Randall is stupid ridiculous, borderline convoluted, and waaaaay too thought out, but I admit I almost choked up when I saw that flashback between Randall and Henry. Course, I think I'm being biased, Nintendo games have an emotional effect on me with their tales than just about any other games.
