Actually the thing with salmon is very common! Most people come in a sushi restaurant thinking, I hate cooked salmon, so I don't like salmon...and they realize that they actually like it raw, but would never have it cooked! I was like that, and I'm still like that - the very smell of cooked salmon makes me run away, but I could eat it raw forever. I guess it might be because it's very fatty, and a lot of people are turned off by the smell of cooking fat.

Among the other things, I didn't think I'd come to like ginger. The first time I had it I hated it to pieces, then some time later I couldn't have enough.

Bell peppers. As a kid I loved the smell of roasted bell peppers but I hated the flavor, now I like them so much that I eat them almost weekly.
