I’m confused, what movies were you watching?

The Breakfast Club – lonely, loser guy does end up with the rich, popular girl, but I wouldn’t call him a Nice Guy, since he wasn’t even pretending to be nice.

Sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink - lonely, loser girl ends up with the rich, popular guy (yeah, there’s the side pairing in Sixteen Candles, but it is definitely not the main story and is left a little ambiguous).

Some Kind of Wonderful – I guess it’s kind of lonely, loser girl ends up with the lonely, loser guy more than anything else, with a side order of rich, popular girl going it alone.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – popular guy is already with popular girl and just has an awesome day with her and his lonely, loser best friend.

I could maybe see it with Weird Science, maybe. Is that what you’re talking about?

This! I was trying really hard to think of a film that fit. Didn't help they used a Ferris Bueller shot - Selfish idiot gets the really hot girl, loser friend gets nada.
Pretty in Pink came to mind next where the 'Nice Guy' definitely didn't get the girl!

Not even Weird Science. They try and fill that trope, but their intended sex slave is savvy and smart, hands their asses to them and then they end up with girl next door types from their school. Same perceived social status and age range.

So even the most egregious of the films doesn't really fit.

Again, these were not perceived "nice guys", we all knew they were idiots at the start and they grew emotionally during the film to see girls as people, not things to do their bidding
