How the hell does this game even have a fandom?

Because it's a good game with interesting characters. It really isn't all that difficult to understand!

The fandom is like 5 people isn't it? Because it's a mediocre horror game that got a bit of hype through a trailer at E3 and PAX and was PC-only for 6 months.

Well.

There is a lot (and I mean A LOT) of cracky askblogs. Then there are the usual people who either have a super lady-boner for Eddie/The Groom or woobiefy him to hell and back. And then there are the people who took the journal entries, deduced and/or assumed character traits for Waylon and Miles and ran with it.

One of the most popular fics takes places after the games and deals a lot with the rehabilitation of the MCs (Miles having survived in that version and is still host to the Walrider).

There are also High School AUs.
