HAVE YOU EVEN READ YOTSUBA????

Seriously, it is beautiful, and as the child of a single parent, I both identify with and admire immensely Koiwai's relationship with his daughter.

I suppose in the future Azuma could go off the rails and do a timeskip into harem manga or something creepy like the last act of Bunny Drop. But so far (well, last I heard) there is no sign of that.

This isn't even "Death of the Author" nonsense. It's recognizing that life has multiple aspects, and no artist deserves to be pigeonholed as "just" a children's storyteller, or a virtual sex worker, or what have you.

I haven't read Yotsuba, but I LOVE Azumanga Daioh, and I will definitely read Yotsuba now! Thanks, secret-maker! <3

it's very cute. There is some speculation as to one of the characters having a relationship (it could also be seen as just her best friend), and a character who has a down moment when she realizes her crush has somebody already. those two things are the closest this thing gets to anything remotely sexual. Neither of those characters are the five year old who the comic focuses on. And it makes sense that they are covered very little, because most five year olds don't are about that sort of thing at all.

Yotsuba, the relationship counselor. About as much time as this thing is going to focus on non-platonic friendships and familial ties.
