Ew. I have one that has automatic shutoff, and I keep it on the low settings (1-4 out of 10), and I've never had a problem so far.

Ew million times.
I'm sure you'd have found out about any problems already. It's either breaks during the first few uses or it doesn't and works alright.)

I just don't like cold.

You're not supposed to put boiling water in them, but that's the only way it feels warm enough for me.

I have this freakishly high threshold of pain - so, i don't actually know if I burned myself when pouring hot water in, or if it actually burned me through contact with my body at night. But basically the next morning I got up, went to the loo, looked down at my legs and saw giant blisters. It's been almost a year and I still have pretty visible scars.

This's really troiblesome. I usually wrap it in a towel. Ehh, I need to get better windows in my room, so it's warmer.
=/
Do you know that cute knitted or sewed ccovers for hot botles? I haven't seen it ouside Etsy. They look so cozy.

Well I learned my lesson. I use ones with covers now - just a few plain blue ones. It's actually nicer like that.
