This is how it really ended and you can't convince me otherwise

Have you made up your own ending for something after you got fed up and quit following it? Did Voyager actually blow up in the Delta quadrant after Neelix used the main engine to power up the pressure cooker? Did Dexter and Rita live happily ever after?

For example, I quit watching Teen Wolf after the second season and ignore just about everything after that point. Instead:

After getting tortured by the Argents and bumping into a strange pack, Erica and Boyd realized that they are screwed without a pack to protect them and returned. There was no ridiculous overflow of Alphas, only Deucalion and a regular pack trying to take over the territory from Derek. Derek's pack learns how to function properly while getting rid of the others and Isaac's favorite scarf is the only casualty.

Gerard slunk off and died of Mountain Aaash poisoning in the gutter. FBI takes an interest on the Argent family after the attack on the police station and the dubious disappearance of the previous principal. Due to his connection with the insane members of his family, Chris faces the possibility of jail time and losing his gun licenses. Chris tries to convince Scott's dad that no, they're not members of an organized crime family or engaged in domestic terrorism, while trying to keep his hunter activities under radar. Scott's dad is not exactly convinced.

Turns out that Jackson's birth parents were from a born werewolf family line. Previously recessive (but still present) werewolf gene in Jackson caused the blue eyes, because born werewolves have blue eyes and bitten ones have yellow. The color has nothing to do with killing, because seriously, what the fuck? Jackson decides to find his relatives with the Hale's help. Unfortunately, one of them is still certain that Peter cheated at poker the last time they met and would like to have his money back, thank you very much.

There is none of that True Alpha asspull, and instead Scott just does his best to learn how to be a decent werewolf and slowly starts to work his way up to the level of born and experienced werewolves. Allison is horrified for torturing people, actually apologizes properly and makes amends instead of stupid jokes about stabbing someone. Scott, Allison and Stiles decide to tell the Sheriff everything, so that he can help and keep Chris out of jail. Consequently, Stiles will be wearing a GPS anklet and washing the patrol car for the foreseeable future.

The Allied Druids and Emissaries Union decides to revoke Deaton's membership after they find out that he's not cryptic, he's just incompetent and should stick to neutering cats.

Lydia remains human, because she's perfect that way, and attends University level math classes instead of being stuck with people who should be in Special Ed. There are no new Hales crawling out of the woodwork, no magic trees or half the town being supernatural, only an occasional passing monster. Eventually everyone starts working together after realizing that they have to share the town. Happy end for all.

tl;dr: Rocks didn't fall and no-one died (except Gerard, good riddance).

Sam rescued Dean from hell. They spent the rest of their days on the road in the Impala, hunting things.

I mostly just erase seasons. The last season of Roseanne does not exist. Nor do any seasons of SPN after 5.

I appreciate your Teen Wolf ending. All the fanfiction I write for the show is mostly AUs, precisely so I can ignore season 3 and beyond.

And related: canon for Supernatural stopped at the end of season 5. The later seasons are still enjoyable, but exist in an alternate timeline.

So the Arrancar arc was draaaaagging and the Deicide sub-arc came along with Aizen's stupid power ups and Keigo stumbled upon Afro-san's discarded zanpakuto, picked it up and try to fight Aizen to buy his friends some time to run away.
I'll stand firmly convinced to the end that nobody stopped Keigo from acting all hero and that he did, in fact, just kill off Aizen with a borrowed zanpakuto. Abracadabra. End of story. All hail Keigo and boo on fuck ass long boring arcs.

I found a scanslation of Karin that ends slightly early, but on a point that makes sense as an ending. I looked up the rest on Wikipedia, and the real ending invalidates everything Karin has achieved and introduces a lot of logical issues. (Basically, a lot of the story's conflicts would have been resolved quickly if Karin had been willing to be exploitative and predatory like the rest of her family, and for sticking to her principles, she winds up kicked out of the family and falsely believing they're all dead.) I never made up my own ending, but I think anything would have been better than that.)

I can't pretend parts of canon don't exist. If canon jumps the shark I won't revisit it after the jumping point, but I can't pretend an alternate ending. I wish I could, but instead I just try to ignore and repress.

Phantom Planet didn't happen, after D-Stabilized, Valerie started hunting Vlad like she swore she would, and she eventually discovers about Danny which causes some fighting and then a genuine heart to heart between the two, and eventually they get to a point where they can get back together.

I pretty much ignore everything in Harry Potter after Book 6. (So, like, the last book I guess.)

Dexter and Rita maybe didn't live happily ever after, but the last episode of Dexter sure as hell didn't happen. More like, Deb lived and took care of Harrison like a boss and Dexter and his girlfriend (Hannah?) died.

Um.

Merlin told Arthur about his magic like in S3 (whenever Arthur became the King) and they worked together and saved the kingdom as TWO SIDES OF A FUCKING COIN instead of one dude keeping a secret and whatever Arthur did because I haven't seen the show in a while but I bet he fucked up somehow. Not listening to Merlin or something probably. Also Arthur didn't die at the end because fuck that.

Transformers Prime. I'm willing to accept canon up through the end of the TV show, but Predacons Rising never happened. So, to begin with, Optimus and the rest of the Autobots are alive and well on Cybertron, and Megatron is dead.

Continuing from there, Starscream and Shockwave are also alive and well on Cybertron, and managed to get Soundwave out of the shadowzone somehow. The Autobots are aware that they're there, but they're not actually doing that much, so they've mostly been left alone. The Vehicons have started recolonizing Cybertron, along with the returning war refugees. Also, Knock Out's reason to change sides was "Ratchet was nice to me and as a group you seem better than the dicks I'm dealing with right now", as opposed to "you guys seem like you're going to win". He and Ratchet have a surprisingly functional working relationship.

Supernatural ended in Season Five.

(I just couldn't really see them being able to escalate the conflict any further... I mean, they already dealt with the apocalypse and faced off against Death.)

Can you write that Teen Wolf fic you just came up with? Because I would actually love to read that AU fixit type of thing, even though I still roll with the show.

Torchwood after series two occurred in an alternate universe. Events were knocked sideways by all the damage Gray did in combination with rift energy going nuts. What happened in actual fact was Torchwood slowly rebuilt and then was retired into UNIT so that Jack and Ianto could finally retire somewhere nice.

since it's a hot button lately...

Naruto's ending doesn't exist. Sasuke rightfully gets killed for his crime against the village, Sakura realizes her crush was just that, a crush, moves on and eventually falls for an older man (hint hint), after she establishes her career as an even better med-nin than even Tsunade,

Naurto calms down a bit and matures more and eventually takes on the role of hokage, but after Kakashi's term as one.

Hinata finally ousts her father and establishes herself as an heiress that abolishes the bullshit of the split families, some years down the line after they both mature, she and Naruto may end up together.

Ino ends up with Chouji. She becomes a med-nin in her own right for ANBU before she decides to settle down.

Shikamaru and Temari is the only pair that sticks. They become ambassadors for their villages.

Neji wasn't killed off senselessly.

Lee and Ten-Ten end up together and become awesome badass taijustsu users in ANBU.

This is how SPN season five ended: Sam and Adam fall into Hell, Bobby and Cas stop being dead, Dean is amazed. Cas admits he's not God. Dean drives to Lisa's place, hooks up with her and starts being a father to Ben. Cas dives into Hell and pulls out Sam and Adam, but leaves Lucifer and Michael in the Pit. Then Cas goes off in search of Chuck. Becky may or may not go with him.

Sam makes his way to Dean's, shows up on Dean's doorstep, and ends up staying with Dean and Lisa. Dean works his nine-to-five construction job, and hunts at night. Sam tends bar, studies magic for the hell of it, considers going back to law school, and hunts. They debate whether or not to take Ben out hunting but ultimately decide not to, as the life is crazy unhealthy and they've both kind of had enough.

A timeskip or two later, a woman shows up. She's a hunter, and has been doing a lot of post-nonapocalypse cleanup, sometimes in the company of Bobby and Rufus. She arrives at the Lisa-Dean-Sam residence and introduces herself - she's the girl from Asylum, and that night inspired her to learn and hunt, and she spent a hell of a lot of time trying to track the brothers down. Sam and Dean realize after meeting her that they're done. Dean makes some speech about how you never stop thinking like a hunter, you never stop seeing the things other people don't, but they've beaten back the apocalypse and that's all any universe can ask of them. The woman ends up with the Impala - whether Dean allows her to steal it or if he gives her the keys, I don't know - and as it drives off into the sunset, Rush's "Freewill" plays and the series ends.

CSI (Vegas) ended for me just before we find out about Gris and Sidle, last ep of S6 if iirc. (I actually fell asleep on the couch before that part aired, so in all honesty, I have never seen it.) And then a couple seasons later they killed Warrick...so it covers that as well.

I never liked Sidle and I just can't see Grissom going anywhere's near her. Hell, I'd've bought a story line with him and Catherine more easily.... (Yeah, I'm also a Grissom/Warrick shipper, but still...)

This is a FAR better explanation for blue eyes than what they went with and it was obviously right there for the taking, but no, instead, it's another excuse to shit on Derek's life.

YES.

As far as I'm concerned, Naruto ended with Kakashi and Gai and everyone else going on a cross-country dog sled-ish sort of race.
