If you can get past the fact that every single case of the week just happens to tie into what's happening in class/characters' external lives, and the fact that it falls into the "Always Murder" trope in a similar fashion to Ace Attorney, I would say go for it. The characters are really solid, and Annalise in particular is an awesome lead.

how cozy is it

on a scale from 1 to 10, where 1 is True Detective and 10 is Murder She Wrote

I'm not sure what this means? Also I haven't seen either of those shows :/

I haven't seen True Detective, but interpreting it as "serious grimdark crime" as 1 and "light mystery with adorable characters running around solving crimes" as 10...3, maybe? It's very Serious Business and wants to make sure you know it is and it's one of those shows that's wrapped up in ambiguity and grey areas, but there are moments of lightness and the pov character is pretty sweet.

I'm not really familiar with Ace Attorney except what I've seen here. I like interesting characters, but I'll lose interest if there's no decent plot, too.

The case of the week plots are pretty standard overly dramatized courtroom stuff, but the overarching plots are really great. Stacked with "oh shit" plot twists and ambiguous flashbacks.

Fair enough, might give it a go.
