Tell Me Spoilers

If there's a fandom you want spoilers for or a synopsis of, list the fandom in the header and hopefully someone will answer your question.

Resurrection (TV show)

(Anonymous) 2014-11-12 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
I've seen ads for this and I was wondering if they've explained what happened to these people yet. Or, what secrets have they revealed?

Not much. Just little hints and small flashes, but no revelations yet. I'm very confused.

But in a good way. I'm very intrigued by this show and I think it's good.

Interstellar

[personal profile] sarillia 2014-11-12 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
What is this actually about? I saw one trailer and didn't care and stopped thinking about it, but I know someone who won't shut up about it but they're the kind of person who refuses to believe that I really truly don't care about spoilers, and in fact spoilers make me more excited a lot of the time because they make me go "oh awesome! I need to watch that play out!"

So someone sell me on this movie with as many spoilers as you want. I do like sci-fi and Nolan so it might end up something I'd be interested in, but I need to know more about the plot.

It's a more classic sci-fi, set in post-societal collapse on Earth. The film deals with relativity on a quite extended level.

When we meet the characters, most people are farmers, but the crops are less and less viable.
The main character is a trained astronaut turned-faarmer-now.

Turns out NASA still has a program going, because they want to get humanity off Earth through a wormhole (and if that fails, plan B is to start a colony with fertilized human embryo's).

Astronaut dude & crew set off into space to look for possible candidate planets for colonization. Shit goes wrong, people die, black hole in that system distorts time. Relativity makes the story circular of sorts.

Also great acting.

Want more spoilers, or is that enough to peak your interest? I'm actually used to describing things without spoilers.

My mind was kinda going "meh" until the time distortion and circular story part. That's intriguing.

It's good - the trouble it's so complex that any summary just doesn't do it justice.

No spoilers honestly, but see it. It was one of the better movies I've watched all year despite it getting a little overly sappy and railroaded toward Hollywood ending standards in the final quarter.

Dunk & Egg stories

(Anonymous) 2014-11-12 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
What even actually happens? Especially as relates to ASOIAF? What is Brynden Rivers' role in it, and how does that relate to him probably being the Three-Eyed Crow?

Supernatural

How is this season going so far? I gave up after season 6, but the idea of demon!Dean intrigues me. And, for reference, I'm not a brothers-only fan. I'm a fan of Castiel and the angels storyline. I just thought that after season 5 the show started sucking.

I missed last week's episode but it's... meh. I can't even remember what the plot is supposed to be this season. Castiel is dying and the remaining angels are trying to get heaven back in order and Crowley and Dean broke up and now Crowley is sad because Dean went back to Sam. I don't even think Dean is still a demon? Unless Sam was referring to Dean being a demon in the past tense because he was trying to mitigate the fact that his brother died and became a demon. Also, Dean needs to kill. He has bloodlust because of the Mark of Cain. I dunno. I don't even think they have a plot, it's just THINGS HAPPEN AND EVERYONE IS SAD.

It's interesting.

You had Sam looking for his missing brother only to discover Dean is a Demon. Crowley with Dean thinking they were going to be BFFs only for Dean to blow him off. Crowley then turning around and stabbing Dean in the back by telling Sam where to get Dean and helping Cas get his mojo back in order to help get Dean as well. (Cas has been dying since he lost his Grace. Crowley gave him a fix for the time being.) Cas and Sam try to cure Dean of being a Demon. It seems to work but it could all be a fake out by Dean. Dean is still acting like his Demon-y self but on the down low. We haven't seen him flash his eyes but there have been clues. (Like how giving Dean holy blood will not only kill some of the Demon but make the usual Demon trappings mute. So there is no way to test him to see if he is a Demon. Holy Water would just splash on him like regular water.) And that's it.

ASOIAF

(Anonymous) 2014-11-12 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
Mainly, I want to know if there was anything interesting in that The World of Ice and Fire book that was released recently. Is it worth getting?

Yes, even if just for the gorgeous art. This book is seriously amazing. Although, if you aren't into history, it may not be your thing. The book expands on the history of the world, which I personally am finding fascinating. But I can see how it would bore some people.

I'm a sucker for the world of the series and worldbuilding, but I had my reservations because it seems like such a tease. I want to know everything about this world. Everything. God, I hope GRRM is able to release that entire history on the Targaryens like he wants to after the series.

Ming telling me about some of the illustrations? Is there anything on the foklore, myths and religions of Westeros?

Re: ASOIAF

[personal profile] philstar22 2014-11-12 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
They are at least mostly about specific events. But they are all done by different artists. GRRM worked with each artist until they got an image that was exactly what he pictured. So, like, we have the definitive Iron Throne and Wall.

It isn't as complete as he would have liked. He gave this interview where he had to cut a lot of stuff to fit it into the book that he'd like to publish separately eventually. But it is really interesting. It is more stories rather than a full, complete history. We get fleshed out stories from the history of the world.

Re: ASOIAF

(Anonymous) 2014-11-12 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
I may get it for the illustrations alone. I'm okay with it being more stories than a complete history. Hope he can release the stuff he cut somewhere down the line. Thanks. :) I'm going to get my hands on it when I get some spare cash.
