Interstellar

What is this actually about? I saw one trailer and didn't care and stopped thinking about it, but I know someone who won't shut up about it but they're the kind of person who refuses to believe that I really truly don't care about spoilers, and in fact spoilers make me more excited a lot of the time because they make me go "oh awesome! I need to watch that play out!"

So someone sell me on this movie with as many spoilers as you want. I do like sci-fi and Nolan so it might end up something I'd be interested in, but I need to know more about the plot.

It's a more classic sci-fi, set in post-societal collapse on Earth. The film deals with relativity on a quite extended level.

When we meet the characters, most people are farmers, but the crops are less and less viable.
The main character is a trained astronaut turned-faarmer-now.

Turns out NASA still has a program going, because they want to get humanity off Earth through a wormhole (and if that fails, plan B is to start a colony with fertilized human embryo's).

Astronaut dude & crew set off into space to look for possible candidate planets for colonization. Shit goes wrong, people die, black hole in that system distorts time. Relativity makes the story circular of sorts.

Also great acting.

Want more spoilers, or is that enough to peak your interest? I'm actually used to describing things without spoilers.

My mind was kinda going "meh" until the time distortion and circular story part. That's intriguing.

It's good - the trouble it's so complex that any summary just doesn't do it justice.

No spoilers honestly, but see it. It was one of the better movies I've watched all year despite it getting a little overly sappy and railroaded toward Hollywood ending standards in the final quarter.
