Childrens books, maybe. My dad has made fun of me before for how many I've hung on to and still read.

I love children's books and I often read ones that I didn't read as a kid (somehow it feels less shameful to read ones that I read before as a kid, because then it's "nostalgia"). I'm 24.

Pretty much all of my tastes have been judged unworthy by my family. My taste in movies, my liking for comic books, certain cartoons, video games, all of it.

Reality competition shows, especially if they involve cooking.

Re: Your shameful interests

I am unashamed in my love of reality cooking competition shows. That shit is my jam. Other reality shows on the other hand, I'm a bit ashamed of enjoying.

no lie, i spent all of last weekend with my mother because she was in town, and we mostly watched Master Chef Canada or Chopped. Cooking competition shows are the shit.

Oh man that's not shameful, revel in the silly cooking shows. Revel!

I personally am a fan of Master Chef, the great British Bake off and(while it's not a competition show it's still about food) Cakeboss.

The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest. I'm way too old for it, but I love it!

Action shows aimed at preteen boys of wildly varying quality (for context, I'm an adult woman). We're talking everything from Voltron Force to Transformers Animated. Voltron Force was bad enough that I pretty much kept watching it entirely and exclusively because I happened to find one of the male characters attractive. TFA was much better.

Some recent video game-based cartoons, like 'Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures' (which I thought was gonna be bad, but it's actually kinda watchable...?) and 'Sonic Boom'. I never thought I'd see the day where I'd unironically like something Sonic the Hedgehog related, yet here I am.

I also occasionally like watching shows like 'Pawn Stars', 'Bar Rescue', 'Holmes on Homes', etc. It's reality TV, true, but it's the kind that doesn't make my blood boil within the first 5-10 minutes, haha.

Uh. I dunno lol. I'm probably more ashamed of how much time I waste dicking around on the internet than of other my hobbies and interests.

I enjoy cricket (the sport) as an American. Not as much as baseball, but I still like it quite a bit.

it's not really shameful, it's more just that none of my friends or family give a single shit about it and consequently have a low tolerance for me geeking out about it

I see nothing shameful about video games themselves, but I admit when I look back on how much time I've spent on them it's like, "Holy shit, I could've done so many others things with that time!"

Granted, I didn't want to, and I don't regret it, but sometimes it takes me aback. I wouldn't tell just anyone, "I've spent 600 hours on this series, haha."

Oh, and sports anime/manga. Again, not that there's anything wrong with anime or manga (or sports anime/manga), but the fact that I don't bother with sports at all unless it's in anime or manga form makes me feel a bit odd. It's just so ~dramatic~ and I can't help but love all the gay friendships.

Okay, well I'm not really ashamed of them, but they're shameful according to others from what I've heard:

-Soap operas. I currently only watch 2. Y&R (for years), and recently picked up GH full time. I watch B&B sometimes with my mom when I'm in the room, but I hate that one. But my fav ones got cancelled years ago. (ATWT, OLTL)

-Reality television. (Big Brother, Masterchef, Top Chef, etc)

-Anime/manga, then. I guess it's shameful that it's my main fandom and medium I consume.

-YA books. Yes, I exclusively read YA (and some "New Adult").

-My music taste, apparently. (Pop Punk/Alternative Rock/Pop/Acoustic bands and Country.)

-I still like Spongebob!

Schwarzenegger movies. I legitimately love Schwarzenegger movies, and nothing can stop that.

(Also, lol, some of the behind-the-scenes stories. There's a scene in True Lies where he was supposed to break a car window, and a fake one had been set up for him. He accidentally broke a real one instead, and he didn't notice. The other actors did though. XD)

I don't think this qualifies as a fandom, but I'm ridiculously obsessed with…

The London Symphony Orchestra.

I follow them like people do rock bands.

Okay, yeah, I'm weird.
