I see nothing shameful about video games themselves, but I admit when I look back on how much time I've spent on them it's like, "Holy shit, I could've done so many others things with that time!"

Granted, I didn't want to, and I don't regret it, but sometimes it takes me aback. I wouldn't tell just anyone, "I've spent 600 hours on this series, haha."

Oh, and sports anime/manga. Again, not that there's anything wrong with anime or manga (or sports anime/manga), but the fact that I don't bother with sports at all unless it's in anime or manga form makes me feel a bit odd. It's just so ~dramatic~ and I can't help but love all the gay friendships.

Over 500 days logged into World of Warcraft over 8 years... and easily hundreds of hours on other games, mostly Bioware stuff, that I can't even track because Steam/Origin have been uninstalled a few times. Yeah. Not publishing those numbers anywhere.

I agree, though. Nothing wrong with gaming, as long as you balance the time against everything else. It's awesome to finally kill that boss that's been wiping the floor with you!

It's probably for the best I never got into WoW because I don't need another massive time waster. That said, I understand the appeal, and imagine many people have spent even more time on it over the years. It's easy to lose track of exactly how much time you've spent gaming!

I've (probably) spent 600+ hours on Dragon Age alone (played the first 4+ times, the second about the same), so that's a bit embarrassing. I don't want to think about all the other games over the years... (Or the Mass Effect universe...)

IA with that, though! There's something very satisfying about completing a long game. Considering how much time you spend leveling up in WoW, I'm sure you feel accomplished.

Absolutely! It's really, really satisfying to look back at everything I've done, and go "I have all these stories about what I've done, and it was awesome." I've made some good friends, too. :)

Oh, I don't doubt it. When you spend that much time with people you become attached. I sometimes miss the people I used to play AQW with, and that was much less hardcore than WoW, haha.
