I don't even know what this is from, but as a het guy, I can totally believe two guys not having sex.

I'm kind of sick of het-girl goggles.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-14 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
>Het-girl goggles

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Most media is straight-guy priented shit already. You got 99% and you're bitching about the 1. Fuck off.

This is what it looks like when someone's privilege gets challenged, even just a little bit.

"Het-girl goggles"? Did you just invent that?

(Anonymous) 2014-11-14 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
What is this from?

Because Aiden Gillen.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-14 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
If it's from Queer As Folk, I'm going to lol forever @ first reply

(Anonymous) 2014-11-14 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
True, but I don't think it is QAF.

I watched that series several times and David Morissey wasn't anywhere in it. I think that's Morissey?

If it were QAF, Gillen's character would not only have had sex with him, he'd have sex with all the male furniture in the room as well.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-14 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
It's Thorne, I think?

Me: Is that Little Finger and the Governor?

(Anonymous) 2014-11-14 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Littlefinger IS the Governor. I mean, he was the Mayor first, but now he's the Governor.

(and soon he's going to run for president)

Oh man, I was wondering if that was Morissey! Was like, "Hey, that guy on the right is hot and familiar...wait is that The Governor? Fuck you Gov!" (Still hot, though.)

I'm pretty sure it's Thorne, a short-lived mystery/thriller series. It's kind of like the pro-Luther. First story is pretty good, very creepy; the second one, not so much. Aiden's character was the medical examiner, and canonically gay.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-14 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, not as good as if it was QAF, but still lolling @ first reply

first reply anon

(Anonymous) 2014-11-14 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if they're both gay, fine.

But it's a fandom secret, and without reference, I think my reply was entirely reasonable.

Re: first reply anon

(Anonymous) 2014-11-14 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
I think it was reasonable too. Just because women have to put up with male-oriented delusional fantasies about how female characters are constantly "asking for it" doesn't mean anything's evened out by women slashing the male ones insistently.

It would be nice if we could all share the planet without our sexual preferences/fantasies clashing, but it's not always possible.

Don't get defensive. They're just saying it made them laugh.

I think what you called it was more eyebrow worthy than anything else.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-14 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
To be fair, both men would still have to be gay, or at least one of them gay like Gillen's QAF character who could turn a man at 20 paces.

Damnit I loved that series. So extravagantly exuberant.

So it's from a crime procedural? I'll pass then.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-14 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
/not first anon

And even then, you know, just because two guys are gay and interact with each other, doesn't mean they had sex. In fact, it's pretty offensive and stereotypical to assume so.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-14 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
But the main plot point of Gillen's character in QAF was that he had sex with literally every man he knew apart from his one best friend?

That's what everyone's referring to, so cool your horses.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-14 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Having actually seen it, I get the feeling that Hendricks (Gillen) was kind of in love with Thorne (Morrissey) in the past, and because of that, he did some things for Thorne that he really regrets. And having done that, is still close to him but is no longer able to (romantically) love Thorne.

However, I can also very easily see it being interpreted that they were lovers in the past.
