I wish I were spending the weekend in the country someplace where there were delicious meals (that I didn't have to cook or clean up after) and great fall weather and a fireplace to read by and places to take long walks, with or without a friend. A farmers' market and/or flea market in the morning, and maybe a dance on Saturday night.

I love flea markets! Back in South Carolina I went to one every weekend. Sadly, Oklahoma does not seem to have any.

When I was in my teens, my folks and I used to go to a Sunday flea market in Lahaska, Pennsylvania, an hour or so from their home. My mother loved rooting around in dim little shops for antique painted teacups and old iron doorstops, and going through jars of buttons and boxes of sewing notions. My father went because my mom liked it. They still live there, and I'm visiting them for Christmas, but I don't know if the market still exists--and anyway, my dad would not leave my mom for that length of time just to go to a flea market. And both of them would freak if I suggested driving there by myself.
