I know there's been a lot of speculation about an Avenger dying, and I've gotta say...I hope it's Tony. Not because I dislike him, but because I'm sick of him getting the majority of the screen time in every group movie in addition to his three solo movies. It's time for him to go.

Given that RDJ is appearing in Cap 3, that's exceedingly unlikely though.

I doubt it'll be RDJ, given his role in Cap3 and his general cash-cow-ness. I'm banking on Steve biting it in Cap3 so they can let Sebastian take over as Cap and avoid all the contract-related issues with Chris.

Yep. Steve's my favorite. DO NOT WANT MARVEL.

I mean, I get that Chris Evans probably wants to move on with his life and that the role is intensely demanding from a physical perspective, but I just wish Steve didn't have to bite it (as I expect he will).

A part of me wishes he would stay just out of respect for a franchise that opened up more acting opportunities for him. Plus the money can't be terrible either.

Eh, he wants to get out of the business (or at least out of being a major blockbuster actor). The lifestyle doesn't suit his personality, and he's talked about his struggles with anxiety. There's nothing wrong with that.

And the money's really not that great, relatively speaking. Objectively, he makes tons of money, but compared to what some of his costars make and what other actors of similar popularity net? Pretty small. (He netted some $2mm for A1, a movie that grossed $620mm. For comparison's sake, RDJ made $50mm for the same movie.)

The only thing that doesn't work with Sam as Cap is that, to me, it doesn't make sense why he would be the only super soldier. What I mean is, if they manage to get the serum working for Sam, why wouldn't they make a bunch of other soldiers also through this process?

With Bucky, though, he clearly went through a TON of unethical experimentation, while for Steve they never managed to recreate the serum's effects.

So Bucky could feasibly take over while keeping Cap "unique" for lack of a better word (since no one's managed to replicate the results without massive ethical quandaries). But with Sam, I feel like there would be no real explanation for why there wouldn't be multiple soldiers given Cap's powers.

Oh, I'd love to have Sam as Cap! But my reasoning was coming from RL things-- I'm pretty sure Stan has been signed to a longer contract than Mackie, though I could be wrong.

It would make sense for him to go since RDJ is no longer interested in the Iron Man movies. But I have a feeling it won't be. I heard Chris Evans might want out at some point but he can't until after CA 3. That makes me super sad though. And RDJ brings a lot to the movies, I've just never been in love with him that's all. His dialogue in Avengers was probably the weakest out of all the movies he's been in, which doesn't help much.
