Eh, IIRC, there is actually something similar to Slenderman in Germanic folklore or something? It was discovered after the fact, tho.

No, that was also created wholecloth as part of the whole "let's create our own paranormal creature thing!"

Unless you're referring to the Erlking.

It was either Germanic or Slavik, but it was a coincidental "tall creepy thing in woods known for kidnapping children." Which the latter was really common in folklore. I don't believe it was faceless, hence similar.

There may be, but that's mostly because Slenderman is rather vaguely defined as a character, so... "sinister thing in the woods" is going to be similar to a bunch of things from folklore.

More "sinister thing in the woods that kidnaps children and is also really tall and thin," but that doesn't mean much.
