FANDOM SECRETS:

Writers don't owe readers anything. Writers should be able to do whatever they want with their writing, including removing it from the public sphere. If you are upset about a writer removing his or her writing from the public sphere, or you are upset about a writer writing only so that he or she can obtain [commodity], then you are ENTITLED and you SUCK. Also, the writer in question is wonderful and courageous and you should feel grateful that he or she released any of his or her material to begin with.

Musicians owe their listeners everything. Musicians should not be able to do whatever they want with their music, and they especially should not be able to remove it from the public sphere. If you are upset about a musician removing his or her music from the public sphere, or you are upset about a musician making music only so that he or she can obtain [commodity], then you are RIGHTEOUS and you should ROCK ON. Also, the musician in question is a sell-out and a terrible human being who clearly does not deserve any of the accolades that he or she might have received.

a+

What FandomSecrets are you reading? Because I constantly see the attitude that readers don't owe writers (at least fan writers) a damn thing, and if you are writing for any other reason than For Yourself--if you are looking for any kind of reward whatsoever--you're doing it wrong.

Wow, this is so true, lol.
