I don't know what she hoped to accomplish. She pulled them off, so now I just won't listen to the one song by her I like. If I wanted to, I'd just torrent (Spotify imports songs from your comp onto your phone if they are in a playlist).

No. I think it was a stupid decision on her part because the people who use Spotify are more likely to torrent her music now, where she'd get no money instead of a little bit, rather than outright buy it. But it is her right to do so, and this secret is petty and kind of stupid.

Wow, should she just come over and sign a blank check to you for the crime of having money, OP? She's a millionaire now, but she, along with every other musician who worked the road and took the early rejection and kept at it, earned her money by not giving up or giving in. She's not my type of music, but the success she has was not handed to her. And she writes her own songs, so they are her product. It doesn't matter how much money she makes in a month, she's allowed to control her product.
