I have to say I agree with you on all that. I already had an impression that in whatever copy of JRR's notes were used for The Silmarillion Galadriel was already part of the group who were innocent of the First Kinslaying. To this day I can't see the logic to the rewrite, except to absolve her of all ambition and muddy the waters on Celeborn by cutting off his previous line of descent to buff him up into a sparkly Calaquendi to be worthy of JRR's pet favourite.
