Kira/Dukat noooooo!

This is why I stay away from the DS9 fandom. Mostly.... I am tempted. But DS9 means too much to me. I wouldn't even mind re-watching DS9 all over, except that I see it through rose-tinted glasses and I wouldn't want that changed.

Kira/Odo was simply adorable, although I strangely shipped Odo/Bashir as well, and quite strongly. There's very little fic for the latter, so I guess I must have been on my own. I have no idea how I picked that up.

Kira/Bareil was my number one pairing ever on DS9, but it was so doomed and heartbreaking. I used to hope each week they'd have more of their story, and then being devastated when it happened.

Keiko/Miles was just lovely. Never enough Keiko.

DS9 had some good shipping.

Oh yes ... gah, Bariel.

I also loved the Sisko-Dax friendship.

(fwiw, I've rewatched the entire series start to finish several times now, and each time I just marvel at the alchemy of having good-to-excellent writing and a perfect cast. I've enjoyed every re-watch.)

That inspires me to rewatch. Thanks!

I never got such pleasure from any other Star Trek than DS9.

Same here.

And YMMV of course, but I hope you enjoy your rewatch!

Oh god, the Sisko/Dax friendship! I love how well Farrell and Brooks managed to carry off the notion that it wasn't just *Jadzia* he was friends with, but *Curzon* too.

I was so thrilled seeing Odo as Curzon because of that.

*nods* At least for me, they managed to convey a depth of warmth that came across to me as non-sexual/non-romantic (though the episode where everyone was trying jump everyone else was hilarious :p)

And yes, DS9 is by far my fav Trek, too.

I loved their friendship. And I may have shipped a tiny bit even if I mostly OTP'd Jadzia/Worf and preferred their relationship platonic. I just loved this idea of a friendship that lasted for two lifetimes.

Really, Farrell was just so good at pulling off the old soul in a young body thing. You could see both Jadzia's youth and Dax's age and maturity. She really was a blend of the two (something I never got with Ezri who always just seemed young to me).

I think a good chunk of the credit was goes to the writers and Avery Brooks as well; the way he called her "old man" all the time just ... for me it was the perfect detail.

(Damn, I really need to rewatch now :p)

I've been meaning to do a re-watch as well, now that I've been seeing some Trek secrets. The series was astonishingly prescient in some ways - "sanctuary districts"/the effective refusal to seriously consider reducing unemployment among people of color, "security state" behavior, overreaction and ineffective responses to threats, bending or breaking laws in secret in the name of prosecuting a possibly indefinite war - the list goes on.

The Sisko/Dax friendship is one of my favourite things about the show. I just love the idea that Sisko will always have a Dax at his side <3
