People in fiction have amazing bonds with cousins, siblings, parents, classmates, roommates, arranged marriage spouses, cellmates, crewmates, people they happen to be chased by a dragon with, and every other kind of non-chosen relationship imaginable. It doesn't mean every real life example of those relationships will or should have the same bond.

Unless there's some additional reason to compare you and your cousins to Maedhros and Fingon (or vice versa), I don't see the relevance?
