"Name the fandom" is for when something is mistakenly posted as N!F, not just whenever you feel like it.

No, I've been here since 2008 and "name the fandom" has always referred to identifying any secret where the fandom is not immediately obvious from image or text. I had no idea #7 was Man from UNCLE until I saw its comment thread.

This. People have done it that way for years (more back on lj though. It seems like it happened much more often there. I haven't really seen much "name the fandom" here)

Yeah, I was personally guessing that it was from one of the recent x-men movies or something.
