I'm torn between this and "hell, yes, mess with them as badly as you can". But the latter will only give you a sense of malicious satisfaction, which in the long term will likely not be worth it. So I suppose I second the advice to give it your best and ignore the fandom.

If you still want to have your revenge, you can actually say what you've said in this secret publicly. Depending on your popularity, it may easily have a similar effect, except your artistic reputation will remain intact.

Yeah, seriously. I'm all for petty revenge, but in this case it would only be an insult to yourself if you were to do that.

I wanna know what the fandom does that's so awful. Because yeah, if you want to show them up, then just saying you're disgusted by their behavior would be pretty awful. This is, of course, depending on what it is.

I suppose it'd depend on whether they still cared about the work itself anymore, and how it might affect them in future?

If they've been soured that badly against the fandom that they don't give much of a shit about the fic and won't be involved anymore, then at least getting some kind of satifaction would be better than letting it sink into total apathy.

OTOH if they plan on writing more in this fandom, or writing more period with that sort of shit-stirring reputation hanging over them, might not be a good idea.
