I think we constantly forget about terrible things famous people do because it's inconvenient to find someone who does them as funny and likable. I think in a couple of weeks, people will start getting tired of hearing about it, to the point of basically absolving him of any crime just to shut people up about it ("I don't care if he did or not, just stop").

I think we need to get our minds out of this concept that a rapist is a guy in a ski mask that'll pull you into a dark alley, or a dudebro frat boy prowling on drunk girls. Bill Cosby is a rapist. People we find funny and charming can be rapists. Parental figures that are in every other way warm and affectionate can be rapists. People that love us can be rapists.

It's tiring, but we can't stop talking about it because it's inconvenient.

I agree so much with this. We tend to frame rapists and sexual predators as being obvious criminals, but most of them aren't, and that's a big part of the problem. They're able to get away with a lot of shit because they aren't the people we're looking for.
