I read this as a "But everything soured when the Fire Nation attacked..." thing.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-23 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I feel like that's not reallllly Neil Gaiman's fault, is it

He just has bad taste in relationships, but he was not himself acting like an egotistical prick

seriously though how does Palmer still have fans

Yeah, 'cuz he totally had no choice in getting into the relationship.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-23 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
well i mean that's what i'm saying, he had bad choice in who he chooses to be in a relationship with but OTHER THAN THAT

and, hey, you know, love blinds people sometimes

I feel like this is going down a "victims of abuse are responsible for their abuse, because they chose to get into that relationship" kind of road.

I think leaving very early in the program is certainly prickish, and somewhat egotistical. If you've arranged to do a public appearance that fills a certain block of time, you should honor your commitment to that time unless there's some kind of emergency that needs your attention. It's telling the host/producers that you don't care about your deals and that your time is more valuable than theirs/their viewers.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-23 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree.

Hey, I can totally relate to that. You often don't see a person's true colors until you're out of love with them. It's emotions and hormones.

See what he says about her when they inevitably divorce.

Well. Sounds like them.

that does sound hilariously trollish indeed

(or I'm giving too much cred here and OP made it funnier)

You know,it does sound a bit like trolling - but on some level, I can sot of admire that.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-23 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be so disappointing, OP.

Rage. Ur doin it rong.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-23 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
god, they're both insufferable

(Anonymous) 2014-11-23 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Rage was the best. Discussing with other Australians the finer points of meticulously recording episodes, and how everything you learned about music was from that show, is one of the great bonding experiences that has been lost in time.

It's a great pre/post-internet indicator.

I know that's true for me! I started losing track of popular music when I gave up recording the Top 30 on Rage. It's all been downhill from there and I barely know when someone new turns up on the music scene anymore.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-23 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
On the plus side this is the most original "I hate Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer" secrets I've ever seen here.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-23 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Goddammit. I want his dead sfm. Why has no-one killed him yet?

(Anonymous) 2014-11-24 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Because he's not worth going to prison for the rest of one's life?

Yeah, this sounds like everything I've ever heard about Amanda Palmer all right.

[personal profile] philippos42 2014-11-23 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Laaaazzyyyy....!

(Anonymous) 2014-11-24 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
You just don't do that on Rage! So rude! (Palmer, not Gaiman. People wander off all the time.)
heystasa: (Candice Accola)

[personal profile] heystasa 2014-11-24 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
To be fair, Amanda has done Rage before (like... seven years ago, I'm thinking? Back when she was with the Dresden Dolls) so she's pretty much already covered the music that influenced her.

I often wonder, when Rage turns into clips from the person hosting, is that the choice of the host or the show? Because it happens fairly frequently.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-24 08:47 am (UTC)(link)
I don't particularly care one way or the other about them but are you sure that Amanda's songs started playing that early? I haven't watched Rage in ages but they always used to play the guest programmers videos at the end. That was half the attraction aside from seeing what they had to say you'd get to see all the videos you hadn't seen for ages.
