Honestly, what I'd just like more is things where fantasy and sci-fi meet, or it's different universes clashing, anachronisms etc.

Maybe the comic Finder, by Carla Speed McNeil? Stories are set in a sort of alternate Earth history-fantasy-tech fusion, and culture clash is a pretty big recurring theme. There's a handful of books in the series out (the stories Voice, Talisman, or Dream Sequence are probably the easiest to jump into), but a good chunk of a rough draft for the next book is up as a webcomic at:

imo, it's very much a rough draft in comparison to her most recent published books, but it gives a generally good idea of her work.
