Re: Canon ships you're not into?
(Anonymous) 2014-11-23 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)Anakin/Padmé -- I get what people don't like about it, but I love how fucked up it is. Padmé's only like 4-5 years older than him any way, so I'm not sure what the huge issue is? By Revenge of the Sith, he's 22/23 and she's about 27 so I don't think it's that big of a gap.
Re: Canon ships you're not into?
(Anonymous) 2014-11-23 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)but to me, Anakin/Padme is just weird because she met him when she was an adolescent, presumably going through puberty, and he was still a little prepubescent boy. I mean, five years when you're nine and fourteen is an enormous difference. It's not so big of a different when you're in your twenties, sure, but considering they first met much younger, it does seem a little more squicky.
Re: Canon ships you're not into?
(Anonymous) 2014-11-23 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)Padmé, meanwhile, was also incredibly lonely and got swept up by the intensity of emotions towards her. And I think, after he lost his mom, that she wanted to "fix" him and save him.
And it's all kinds of fucked up, but damn if I don't enjoy the dynamic.
