I think what OP is saying is that there's this common belief in fandom that the ONLY way a woman can care about something more than or as much as getting or keeping a man is

1. She's gay, or
2. She's asexual

That there is absolutely no way a woman can have higher priorities and still be interested in sex with men unless she absolutely doesn't want a man ever. It's... messed up. I'd love to see more representation and most of my ships are femslash, but a lot of headcanons are based on dumb shit like not being able to imagine a woman not being obsessed with the male protag's dick rather than "wouldn't it be cool if?"

I really have to admit that I was shocked after watching a few episodes, that she had sex with/loved guys. I'd totaly assumed that amazon=lesbian.

Ugh sadly yes to your last paragraph. It's very similar to the shit in m/m slash where the people are like "omg, there's no other explanation for why this guy got scared when his best friend was hurt!" rather than "wouldn't it be cool if?"

I know I'll sound silly for saying it, but I've always found it disappointing that slash and femslash fans seem to have just as rigid gender expectations/stereotypes as your average anti-slash het fan, even if their rigid stereotypes are a bit broader. Before I really delved into fandom, I had this weird fantasy in my head where slash fans were these wonderful stereotype-dissolving paragons of open-mindedness.

Call me a grump, but I personally don't see much intellectual progress between "not conforming to gender stereotypes is Wrong and Unnatural" and "not conforming to gender stereotypes is Wrong and Unnatural unless you're gay/lesbian."
