My lack of interest in playing female characters in games where I have the option comes from the skimpy as hell armor designs female characters get. Like, give me the option to see men running around with their junk supported entirely by lace made out of delicate little chains as well as the women and I'd be all over that, but if it's just the women it's depressing for me.

I once ran around Dragon Age with two male companions just in their underwear. Because I could. And Dragon Age is actually pretty damn good at having sensible armor.

I do love Dragon Age for having mostly sensible armor. The new one's even gotten better about less boob outlining in the armor from what I've noticed.

The boob outlines faded the higher up you got in armor classes. By the time my female warrior got to level 20 there wasn't telling any difference, apart from chest width and height (I experimented once by putting Alistair and my character in the same armor).

Unfortunately, rogues and mages weren't so lucky. Boob cups and bondage collars everywhere.

Well, the best mage outfits were from Tevinter and, far as I can tell, Tevinter is one screwed-up place. I remember really wanting to put Wynne in a non-Circle robe, taking one look and going "Nopenopenope. Back into your senior enchanter robes!"

(Disclaimer: I've never worn leather armor, only plate.) I feel like some breast support would actually be beneficial to leather armors. Otherwise things are going to be bouncing and rubbing, and the chafing would get pretty bad. The collars on the female versions WERE a little weird (although, had they been on the guys too, I would have been quite happy to have one on Nathaniel Howe…).

You would like Final Fantasy XIV. There are just as many skimpy clothing options for the guys as there are for the girls. Heck, one of my friends has his male character running around in the equivalent of a leopard-print speedo.

da

lmao, I love FF XIV for that. some of the dudes run around around in these dumbass leather sports bra things and it's just great

ayrt

There are so many naked catboys on my server. So many.

I love it. :D

But what I really, really love about FFXIV is that on the whole, armour sets are the same for male and female characters. See a big plate armour piece? It's not going to turn into a chainmail bikini top when you put it on your female character.

It goes the other way, too. That leather subligar you see? Looks pretty much the same on male and female characters.

The Souls series is actually very good about its armor designs.

Destiny has non-skimpy female armor, and it's some of the better I've seen in general:

(Still a bit of a waist-line problem, but...it's getting there)
