I think it's super annoying when you get the rare female character that isn't interested in anyone and the fandom jumps on "they MUST be asexual." I mean come on. I'd love to see some asexual characters too but it's possible for all sorts of women not to be interested in relationships for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes fandom seems really backwards with their reasoning for things.

I don't think I'd consider it more revolutionary. I can't seem to think of one character that's be acknowledged as asexual in canon. But man can't we get more of both types of characters all round?

I can't seem to think of one character that's be acknowledged as asexual in canon.

The only one I know of is Voodoo from Sirens but the way it was handled pissed me off. Other characters, including a gay guy, referred to her sexuality as a "pathology" and called her "not human" and it's not like they were portrayed as assholes for saying those things, either. There's no way they'd get away with saying that stuff about the gay character, and it was just bullshit.

The other characters that are commonly interpreted by fans to be asexual also have people being dicks about it...what I'd really like is not just more asexual characters, but ones where it's not a huge deal and something other people criticize or make fun of them for. Or even just ONE, really.
