(Anonymous) 2014-11-30 12:13 am (UTC)(link)I don't think I'd consider it more revolutionary. I can't seem to think of one character that's be acknowledged as asexual in canon. But man can't we get more of both types of characters all round?

(Anonymous) 2014-11-30 04:58 am (UTC)(link)The only one I know of is Voodoo from Sirens but the way it was handled pissed me off. Other characters, including a gay guy, referred to her sexuality as a "pathology" and called her "not human" and it's not like they were portrayed as assholes for saying those things, either. There's no way they'd get away with saying that stuff about the gay character, and it was just bullshit.
The other characters that are commonly interpreted by fans to be asexual also have people being dicks about it...what I'd really like is not just more asexual characters, but ones where it's not a huge deal and something other people criticize or make fun of them for. Or even just ONE, really.
