The tumblr side is 100% convinced it's going to happen actually, it's not going to be pretty. Especially since they'll asspull a reason for Makorra to get back together. (Or maybe it'll end with friendly friends instead of romance, one can hope)

Not really? Like, it's fun to talk about and wish for it to become true but it's also borderline impossible because main girl getting with a girl in an american cartoon? Not going to happen, which is why it's so annoying when people want to point out the obvious. Yes, we know the heteroship will win over the homoship. No shit. The tumblr fandom is aware, but we still want to squee over the korrasami bits even with the knowledge of it never happening.

Personally I hope there's no canon ship at the end of the series. She's still a young adult, no need for her to find tru~luv straight away. Lets start with some nice steady friendships.

Maybe if Makorra hadn't started off so badly but it was such a clustefuck in the first few seasons. Better to go without it.

Huh, all I see are Korrasami people crosstagging about how Makorra will never happen (even though it did?) because it's 'heteronormative' and anyone who ships Makorra and denies the canon of Korrasami is 'a homophobe'. I went into the Korrasami tag and it was pretty much the same, Korrasami is going to be canon, oh Makorra is delusional, I'm going to laugh in their homophobic faces when we're canon! etcetc/

considering that they had aang and katara find "tru~luv" when they were close to a decade younger than korra, you're probably barking up the wrong tree

Once here and there is okay, but if the majority of their characters keep finding truluv at young ages, it becomes tiresome.

TBH I think bryke just really suck at writing romance. I wish they'd had more people like in ATLA to bounce and veto ideas off.
