(Anonymous) 2014-11-30 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)Like, not every super hero movie needs a romance on the side? TWS highlighted that perfectly, even. Sure, Nat tries to set Steve up & they ahve a little talk about the state of his love-life in the car, there's some awkward flirting on Steve's part with Sharon's undercover persona, but that's it and the movie isn't any worse for it? (If anything, imo, it felt refreshing.)
Also, yes, Sharon would be a bad choice as a love interest anyway (given what Steve said to Nat re: finding someone with shared life experience, which of course isn't vital to a romantic relationship per se but seems to be important to Steve), and if they kept her related to Peggy in the MCU, it would just be completely weird and squicky.
