I've noticed many people get off on outrage. There was an article on Cracked that talked about how there's actually biological chemical reasons why feeling angry feels really good - even better when it's defensible anger so you can draw it out. I dunno how true it was since I can't find it right now, but it explains a lot.

Yes. I've never been a social justice blogger but I had to extract myself from spending much time on any of those sites, because I found it that they made me feel awful all. the. time. Which achieved nothing but making me feel awful.
