Or anon could just get a laptop. IDK why you're making them defend their preference continuously? It's not like laptops are incapable of doing the things listed above.

Because it's the option that makes the most sense. The whole point of a laptop is portability, but the anon doesn't actually need it to be portable, per se, anon just needs a configuration that allows them to sit comfortably while using a stationary computer. So for less money, you can get a more powerful system per their requirements and still have the seating arrangement that suits them.

If someone were asking for recs for a couch that was waterproof, light and could be transported easily via the trunk of their car so they could have a place to sit during soccer games but they didn't need it to be very heavily padded, it makes more sense to tell them to get a lawn chair.
