Sexual empowerment can not happen by accident. something has to be chosen to be created for sexual empowerment. Something made for men, even if it benefit's a minority of women, is still made for men and can not then be made empowering to women.

You're argument seems to me to be "This appeals to women's sexuality therefore it can't be degrading" This is based on the fact that women's expressions of sexuality is inherently empowering. Have I gone very far wrong with this inference?

Oh no, I don't think that at all. I think something can be degrading even if it appeals to women's sexuality. But I don't think "sexy" and "empowering" are the same thing. I think something can be sexy without being empowering and vice versa.

so ... if I see something and it happens to make me feel empowered even if the intent of the creators wasn't to empower me ...
