These are also things talked about in feminist theory. Patriarchy is about the whole not just about women. Patriarchy says how men and boys should act and feel and polices them when they step outside of it, and that's part of how the system is kept in place. When men are taught that some things are "feminine" and that femininity is "weakness," it's easier for them to fall into the thinking that women are lesser.
